Paris bound EasyJet flight removes Jew passengers at Barcelona

Published on : Tuesday, May 10, 2016

easyJetThe British budget airline Easyjet is again wrapped in controversy with some 180 passengers being forcibly removed from a plane from Spain to France.

Passengers of the EZY3920 flight from Barcelona to Paris were asked to step off the plane just minutes before takeoff. The passengers who were thoroughly confused were handed to the Spanish police who interrogated them. Some passengers were also accused of being terrorists and were treated aggressively by the local police.

Most passengers who were removed from the flight were French Jews who were returning home after spending holidays in Spain.

The passengers were outraged and found the act anti-Semitic as Jews were singled out. The airline however says that there were other reasons for singling out a few passengers. A spokes person from EasyJet said that flight was brought back to the gate because of “a group of passengers behaving in a disruptive manner.

The passengers were asked to disembark as the police wished to speak to them so that the matter could be investigated.

The EasyJet representative skirted the question on whether the passengers were charged with disruptive activities.

The results of constant security and T hysteria and having underpaid high school dropouts as underpaid flight attendants and security screeners. No wonder flying is so miserable these days. And the band played on.

  2. Kamaal Ahmed says:

truly disgusting. Better for Easy Jet to specify which type of customers they would like to fly including race, creed and nationality!!!! at least this will help the passengers to choose their airline wisely. Easy Jet should be held responsible and accountable for such actions.

This also Applies to British Airways which is totally a Racist Airlines.

    • sidhartha says:

Easyjet was high handed to say the least. A Brit airline, they were racist always and have not changed. Maintaining ‘low cost’ has its limits and this is downright insulting. I wouldn’t wish to be meted out this stuff.

  3. Diane Curtis says:

I find the descrition Jew passenger anti-semitic

  4. One wonders; would there be the same degree of controversy if the “behaving in a disruptive manner” passengers where French from Palestinian extraction?

  5. Neil says:

There is a lot of hatred and discrimination in this world. A lot of it is due to short sightedness and one sided and incorrect information. The problem is that this article gives us non-information as we are left clueless to what happened and are only given statements by both parties. There could be racism in play, but the group of Jewish travellers could also have been disruptive. So let’s not jump to conclusions based on this non-information. As for EasyJet and BA, I fly both more than 20 flights a year and in general I find them professional, unlike “Brianair” which cuts costs to danger levels and exploits its staff.

Maybe they were arguing with the stewardess over the high cost of bagels, hummus and gefeltefish?
