The officials at Los Alamos want to come up with a strategic plan for boosting tourism around the relatively new Manhattan Project National Historical Park. The officials discussed their plans last week during a meeting with the Regional Coalition of LANL Communities.
The officials expect that this plan will serve as a roadmap for the years to come and how Los Alamos County can make use of Manhattan and the neighbouring Valles Caldera National Preserve and Bandelier National Monument. The Manhattan Project Park is one of the most unique and best parks in the national system. It also includes sites at Oak Ridge, Tennessee and the Hanford Nuclear Reservation in Washington State.
