The purpose of these familiarization or Fam tours is to provide them with immediate knowledge of various shows and attractions to endorse to the traveling enthusiasts worldwide. Of late, approximately twenty employees spent the whole day in town learning about all that Helena has to provide the visitors. The day was filled with visits to the Delta Cultural Center, the Helena Museum, the Phillips County Courthouse, the Edwardian Inn, the Pillow-Thompson House, the KBBF office and the Arkansas Welcome Center.
Majority of the group was with John Ruskey of Quapaw Canoe Company in the afternoon on the Mississippi River. The other half had a guided tour of all the Civil War sites headed by interpreter Will Hardage. The entire day was managed and coordinated by Dawna Parker, manager of the H-WH Arkansas Welcome Center, and the Helena A&P Commission.
