The flight was scheduled from Poland to London.
The Bedfordshire Police stated that the passenger was trying to unlock the door and was being controlled by the crew. The man was arrested post landing on suspicion of being a threat to the aircraft. He was later taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries. However, he is still in the police custody.
A spokesperson told the media that their crew adhered to standard procedures maintaining the safety of the flight which is a matter of top concern for the airline. The passenger was handed to the respective authorities upon landing and the matter is now under police’s custody.
There was further mention of zero tolerance for abusive behaviour towards the passenger and staff of the Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air.
A similar incident was reported earlier this month where a Beijing-bound Delta Air Lines flight was made to return to Seattle after a passenger attempted to open an exit door in mid air and fought with the crew members who stopped him.
Air Asia flight faced the same a couple of days later and the passenger was restrained by crew members.
