A passenger bus plunged into a lake and killed 18 passengers at the Chinese province of Hubei, early in the morning on Friday, 2nd December. Apart from the 18 passengers, the impact of the crash also severely injured two more passengers, who were admitted to a nearby hospital by the local authorities.
In the official website of the central province of Hubei, the provincial government officials informed that two of the passengers survived the crash, which killed 18 passengers near the Chinese city of Ezhou. The authorities also informed that after the crash they launched an investigation on the driver of the bus.
It was known that during the early hours of Friday, the entire region of Central China was covered with thick fog which lowered the visibility and made it difficult to drive. But the reports did not inform whether the weather was the main reason behind the crash that forced almost the entire bus to be submerged.
Authorities in China witness numerous crashes every year due to exhausted drivers, poor condition of vehicles and aggressive driving. The authorities in China consider the accidents involving water-bodies to be more fatal as all the people in China know how to swim.
