Staff from South West Trains will be on hand throughout the day to answer questions from passengers, provide advice and also explain more about the £50million investment which will be delivered over the next 12-18 months to provide a better experience for passengers right across the network.
The Forum starts at 7am and continues right through the day, closing at 7pm to give commuters and leisure travellers plenty of opportunity to find out more about travelling on one of Europe’s busiest railways, which now carries nearly 230million people per year.
The focus of this Passenger Forum is the introduction of £50million of improvements for passengers which are already starting to be delivered and will continue throughout 2016 and into 2017.
The Forum is also being held a few days after the introduction of the improved South West Trains timetable, which delivers 57,000 additional seats right across the network.
Arthur Pretorius, Customer Service Director for South West Trains, said: “As one of the busiest train operators in the UK, our Passenger Forums are always extremely well attended and we are pleased to meet so many passengers face to face and help with any questions or queries they may have.
“We are also looking forward to letting passengers know about all the improvements we are making to their services right now. In addition to the £50million package of improvements, we have also nearly completed the £65million introduction of 108 additional and refurbished carriages, allowing us to add more carriages to many of our busiest services.
“I would welcome any passengers who are passing through London Waterloo on Wednesday to stop by and have a chat, we’d be happy to help out.”
Members of the South West Trains- Network Rail Alliance Charity Panel will be in attendance raising awareness and funds for the current charities of the year; Big World Impact, On Course Foundation and Southbank Sinfonia.
