Perak eyes to attract Indonesian 150,000 visitors this year

Perak eyes to attract IndonesianIn 2017, Perak is all geared up to attract more than Indonesian 150,000 visitors to the state followed by a three-day Visit Perak Year 2017 Tourism Mission in Medan since last Monday.


As explained by Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir, the mission was launched to boost tourism products in Perak like food, theme parks, like the Animation Park Studios (MAPS) and international level sports and seminars.

He further added by saying that the Indonesian tourism industry players were informed from beforehand that Perak was one among other destinations in Malaysia which has a cheap to visit besides Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Melaka. However, he informed the reporters closing the programme that the response from tourism industry players in Indonesia was quite positive though.


Zambry informed that Perak was targeting on Indonesia to enhance the tourism of the state because of the close bonding they share between Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta, at the same time to take advantage of the Indonesia-Malaysia- Thailand growth triangle (IMT-GT) as well. To quote, ‘I see that Indonesia has huge and the family ties that exist between the Malaysian and Indonesian people enable visitors from Indonesia to come to Malaysia.’
