The eyes of the world’s oil and gas industry will be on Perth this month when the prestigious 18th International Conference and Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG 18) brings up to 5,000 participants to the city.
LNG 18 is the biggest international event to be held in Perth since the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in 2011, and the largest industry conference ever to be hosted in WA.
The event, on April 12-15 at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, is expected to deliver $45 million into the State’s economy including the equivalent of 2,300 nights of hotel bookings valued at around $6 million.
Almost 70 per cent of delegates will be from overseas.
Pre-conference tour options include Margaret River and the Kimberley, while the event program features a welcome reception with the Prime Minister and Premier and a Swan River dinner function with WA produce.
Perth previously hosted LNG12 in 1998 and is the only destination to host the conference a second time.
