Peru aims to attract over 1.8 million visitors to its well-preserved natural protected areas giving a fillip to its sustainable tourism. At the beginning of the year, 2016’s goal stood at 600,000 visitors. Following considerations, the figure was increased to 1,800,000.
Tourism growth “is due to” the strategy implemented nationwide, Sernanp Head Pedro Gamboa affirmed.
Such strategy “is the result of proper conservation management and basic, as well as infrastructure services enhancement witnessed across the areas.”
The measure has been recognized by entrepreneurs and thus generated confidence among them to “make new investments in the country.”
On the other hand, Gamboa explained that population’s active participation and engagement has led to good results over the last four and a half years.
