Peruvian carnivals are drawing the attention of foreign tourists, who immerse themselves into the country’s mainland to each enjoy customs and traditions and become surprised by natural, supernatural, earthly and cosmic aspects, the National Chamber of Tourism (Canatur) said.
“Huanuco and Ayacucho’s carnivals are being highly promoted and have drawn much attention, when it comes to reservations and sales for this season,” Canatur Chairman Jorge Jochamowitz said.
He stressed, Cajamarca will welcome between 25,000 and 30,000 domestic tourists. The numbers do not include region’s residents, who will visit the city on the occasion.
Earlier, the official had highlighted the presence of Brazilian tourists, who prefer to attend Loreto’s Carnival celebrated every February despite the fact their native country’s Rio de Janeiro festivity takes place in the same month.
“Brazilian tourists have arrived for Loreto Carnival’s past editions, especially those who live closer to the city of Iquitos,” he said.
