Peter Shanks to head Silversea Cruises in UK and Ireland

peterPeter Shanks will be heading the Silversea Cruises as the managing director for UK and Ireland.



He will be operating from the London office and  report to chief executive, Roberto Martinoli.



He will be responsible for the continuing strong growth in the UK & Ireland markets.



Shanks has an experience of twelve years at Carnival Corporation and was recently the president and managing director of Cunard Line.


He worked as the development director at fast growing Imagine Cruising for the last three years. Image Cruising is a leading provider of cruise and stay holidays and part of the Emirates Group.


He also served as the chairman of CLIA UK.


Silversea chairman Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio said that Peter is the leading expert on the British and Irish markets. He was happy to have him on board his leadership will help their further growth in the market.


Peter  Shanks will join Silversea in early 2018 and will lead a team of 71 professionals.



Roberto Martinoli  said that he was  delighted to welcome Peter back to the cruise sector at a pivotal point in our company’s growth.



His extensive experience in the industry will effectively propagate  the team to the next stage.
