In support of the recent launch of the Petite Anse Reef Restoration Project, Four Seasons Resort Seychelles and its marine education partner WiseOceans are marking World Oceans Day 2015 with a new marine photography competition, where the winning entry will appear as the image on the Resort’s official postcard.
Open to entries from all guests from now until June 7, 2015 and following this year’s World Oceans Day theme of “Healthy Oceans, Healthy Planet,” this new initiative aims to further raise awareness of marine life in Seychelles through a fun and interactive competition, as part of this UN-recognised day of ocean celebration and action. To enter, guests must submit their images via email and are encouraged to upload the marine photo of their choice to Four Seasons Resort Seychelles Facebook page with the hashtag #wisephotos before World Oceans Day on June 8, 2015.
The winning photo will be revealed on the day itself as part of a full program of events in the Resort, which will include a complimentary guided snorkel of the reef with WiseOceans, a marine education talk and quiz, plus engaging arts and crafts for children. In addition, all photos submitted for the contest will be displayed at the Resort’s Coral Cabana throughout World Oceans Day.
General Manager of Four Seasons Resort Seychelles Alex Porteous comments: “World Oceans Day is a wonderful event to raise awareness of the importance of our seas. Following a three year partnership with WiseOceans, we take great pride in the recent launch of our Reef Restoration Project here at Petite Anse and hope that this contest will help to further create a wider knowledge of the beauty and importance of the coral reef and its dependent marine life.”
