A Jet Airways flight that was travelling with 111 passengers on board was compelled to go for an emergency landing at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPI) on Tuesday evening after the pilot observed fire in the cargo hold.
The flight that had departed from Udaipur was carrying 111 passengers.
Suddenly around 6.31 p.m., the pilot signaled the Air Traffic Control or ATC for an emergency landing.
Thereafter the ATC immediately offered the aircraft the permission to land and eventually this flight landed at 6.50 p.m.
The fire emergency services at the airport along with the emergency team rushed to the landing area and all passengers including the crew were able to safely disembark within 7.05 p.m.
The Director of SVPI Manoj Gangal mentioned that as soon as the pilot had signaled the ATC for an emergency landing of the plane that left Udaipur they had kept their team ready.
Since their priority was passengers, when the airplane landed it was parked at a remote parking so as not to interrupt other movement at the airport.
