Plane makes emergency landing at Hayward Airport after its brakes locked

hayward-airportOfficials of the Hayward dire department said that the airline crew immediately responded to an airplane that was forced to make an emergency landing at the Hayward Executive International Airport.

The Federal Aviation Administration said that the flight known as Swearingen SA227 was diverted off the runway around 1.00 p.m.

The fire crew of Hayward said that the brakes inside the aircraft had locked up and this was the reason why the airplane had no other choice but to make a sudden landing that was not planned.

This airplane had landed on the grassy area that is close to the runway.

Airport officials had to tow the plane out off the grassy patch since the brakes were very hot. Therefore, the crew was anxious that a fire might break out on account of the extremely hot brakes.

The fire crews said that none of the passengers or crew members had been injured as a result of the emergency landing. The fire crews had stayed in the spot as a precautionary measure. The Federal Aviation Administration declared that it would soon be investigating the cause of the emergency landing.
