If you are a ski enthusiast looking for your next ski destination, then it’s time to consider the Chisenupuri Ski Area. The surrounding area of Niseko is globally renowned for having some of the most consistent and lightest powder snow in the world. This is due to the near-constant storm cycles from neighbouring Siberia, the mountains around Niseko, which includes the Chisenupuri area. Known as a powder snow paradise, Niseko attracts 700,000 skiers and snowboarders annually.
The characteristic and abundant fluffy snow, approximately 580 inches a year, provides ideal skiing conditions for both seasoned and casual thrill-seekers. In 2015, Niseko was rated the best ski resort in Japan for the third year in a row by the World Ski Awards.
The 2016/17 winter season will see all Chisenupuri Ski Area terrain open, with existing runs left ungroomed, and gate access to multiple backcountry route options. Limited seat snowcat tickets are available, negating the need to manually ascend the mountain, enhancing the time spent skiing on untracked powder. Chisenupuri is adjacent to a large hot spring, which visitors can also access as part of their vacation. Skiers can therefore soak in a relaxing and rejuvenating onsen (“hot spring” in Japanese) after an exhilarating day of skiing.
MMP Resources Japan K.K. , a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore Mainboard listed company, MMP Resources Limited, is targeting to become Japan’s premium backcountry snow operator. It has entered into an operations and management agreement with JRT Trading Pty, which was recently awarded the World’s Best Heli Ski Operator in 2016 by World Ski Awards in Kitzbuhel, to jointly operate the Chisenupuri Ski Area in Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan.
MMPRJ will provide local and international skiers and snowboarders with a world class backcountry powder skiing experience, coupled with multi ability terrain and an ease of access from hotel and accommodation infrastructure.
