The Democratic National Convention, which will be organized in Philadelphia in July, may disrupt the lives of several tourists and citizens.
In 2015, the visit of Pope Francis led to major restrictions throughout the downtown area of the Center City of Philadelphia.
In Cleveland, as the presidential election nomination process is intensifying, the Republican National Convention is going to be organized at the Quiken Loans Arena from 18th July to 21st July.
The popular convention centres, restaurants and hotels are expected to be packed with business corporate travellers from special group receptions, protests, and general revelry. The travellers, who have plans to visit these places, must be prepared for the complications during several Republican and Democratic conventions. Travellers are also expected to face restricted access in numerous places.
The travel analyst for the Atmosphere Research, Henry Harteveldt has advised travellers to avoid Cleveland or Philadelphia during the political conventions, if it is possible.
In order to avoid any mishap in this era of terror attacks, the Department of Homeland Security has decided to make the security procedures extra tight during the events.
Travellers may experience road closings during the events. Those, who are not political travellers, may find it little difficult to rent hotel rooms. It is advisable to check the availability of rooms prior to the date of visit.
For the political air travellers, United Airlines is going to add 20 more flights during the political conventions. But the American Airlines has got no such plans.
To avoid any potential violence, traffic delays, unavailability of hotel rooms and restaurant reservations during the visit to Cleveland and Philadelphia, travellers are advised to reschedule their trips.
