Poor road safety in Thailand kills 13 tourists in road accident

ThailandRoadAccident1A tourist bus carrying twelve Malaysian and a Thai tourist were killed as the bus crashed down through one of the most dangerous roads in Thailand.

 

Among the 13 tourists killed eight were women and five men. The victims were both Chinese and Malaysians.

 

The manager of the touring expedition Terence Yung said that they have lost their tour leader. Some of the relatives of the dead were in tears, it was a shocking moment for all who has lost someone.

 

The images of the horrific accident scenes were posted by many on social media. Some had suffered severe injuries.

 

Thailand has the world’s second most dangerous roads according to 2015 global road safety by the World Health Organisation. Thailand recorded 36.2 fatalities per 100,000 people. The WHO said that number of official reported road deaths a year in Thailand for 2012, according to latest year figures are 14,059. But they added that their modeling suggested the true figure is actually closer to 24,000 dead a year.
