Unobserved by several travelers, the spectacular city of Prague is gradually turning into an appealing tourist attraction for Chinese visitors. This UNESCO heritage-rich city is known to draw as many as 3,00,000 Chinese tourists to the Czech Republic. The figure is a sharp 35% rise from the number of tourists who had arrived here in the year 2014.
At least 60,000 more Chinese travelers have visited Prague as compared to the numbers in 2014 that places Prague in the same league as London. However, the tourist spending in London still beats that of the travelers in Prague, though the tourists in Prague spend thrice the amount of money that travelers spend in other countries.
The inflow of Chinese tourists to the region of Prague has been responsible for major development in the Czech capital. Just like many other countries, the Czech Republic encourages Chinese tourists in Prague as a means to compensate for the loss of average spending by Russian travelers.
The tourists spend a major portion of their initial 2.7 days in the capital of Czech Republic that is Prague. A large number of such travelers are encouraged to follow the path paved by the Chinese tour operators. Most of the travelers who visit Prague are drawn to this region by the thriving night-life in Prague, art events and music concerts. However, they are not equipped with the complete information regarding the other popular tourist attractions in this part of the world.
Prague’s glamorous portrayal in the movie ‘Somewhere only we know’ in the year 2015 made Chinese tourists more enthusiastic about visiting this city of the Czech Republic.
Now, the challenge that confronts the Czech National Tourism Organization is to enable local service providers to develop new strategies that motivate tourists to extend their stay here and visit other places apart from Prague.
