Primera Air will be launching third transatlantic route by spring next year from its new base at Standsted with direct flights to the Canadian city of Toronto.
The low cost airline will offer three flights a week throughout the year. There was a recent announcement of daily services to New York’s Newark Airport that will start in April 2018. There will be four departures a week to Boston Logan Airport from May next year.
The Standsted service will be the third transatlantic one the airline is operating, Primera Air’s new Airbus A321 neo aircraft will be operating the flights to all the three destinations. It will also offer a choice of two cabins of full-service premium and low-fare economy.
Andri M Ingolfsson, the Primera Air president said with the new Airbus A321neo aircraft new routes will be opened that were previously served only by wide-body aircraft. The new-generation aircraft will offer unprecedented services to the passengers from the UK to the US and Canada.
Ken O’ Toole, the chief executive Stansted said that the innovative airport wants to offer more flights to more destinations across North America, the Middle East and further afield, catering to the growing businesses demand and passengers across the region looking to fly long-haul from their local airport.
With prices starting from £149 one-way inclusive of all taxes, fees and charges, flights to all the three destinations are now on sale.
It was also reported that Tornonto will be served three times per week on a year-round from Birmingham the services will start from May 2018.
