To celebrate the arrival of 
to the west coast, Princess Cruises partnered with Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital to host three deserving employees who received “The Royal Treatment” onboard the ship as a result of being nominated by their fellow employees for consistently going above and beyond in their work at the hospital, for their family and their community.
This past Saturday the special guests were driven to the Port of Los Angeles for a VIP welcome. They were greeted by Princess Cruises Celebrations Ambassador Jill Whelan (Vicki Stubing from “The Love Boat”) and uniformed Royal Princess crew members. During their visit, they were treated to champagne, a private lunch in the Sanctuary – Princess Cruises’ adults-only relaxation and quiet area – and enjoyed spa treatments in the Lotus Spa. To commemorate the day of “The Royal Treatment” they each went home with a gift bag filled with a luxurious Princess Cruises robe, slippers and Lotus Spa products.
Located in Santa Clarita, CA home to Princess Cruises’ world headquarters, Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital “Royal Treatment” recipients included Rosella Dolan, Kris Floyd and Karen Wintterle. Excerpts from their nominations bring to life why they are so deserving:
Rosella Dolan, Registered Nurse, 10 years – “Rosella works tirelessly to ensure our extremely critical cardiac patients are taken care of by coordinating devices/vendors, physicians, multi-disciplinary teams and unit staff… Beyond being THE “go to” open heart program nurse, Rosella continues to work to educate others on rhythms, the structure of the heart, and diseases and up and coming… I’m very fortunate to work with such a powerhouse nurse and compassionate superwoman.”
Kris Floyd, RN Case Manager, 3.5 years – “Kris is a blessing to patients and staff… She compassionately advocates for patients and their families and supports the nursing staff like they are her family. Kris is an RN that was created to care for people. She serves from her heart and gives generously to all.”
Karen Wintterle, Administrative Assistant, 1.5 years – “Karen came to mind as soon as I read “above and beyond” and “deserves the Royal Treatment.” Karen goes above and beyond on a daily basis to meet the needs of multiple departments… she is the first one to step up and offer help when someone is in need. Karen is an invaluable member of the Henry Mayo team. She goes above and beyond in all aspects of her life!”
“These three professional women of Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital have not only found their professional calling but put their heart and soul into it every day, as recognized by their fellow colleagues. We’re proud to acknowledge their efforts by giving them a day of ‘The Royal Treatment’ on Royal Princess during her maiden season here in Los Angeles,” said Brian O’Connor, vice president, communication for Princess Cruises and hospital foundation board member.
Royal Princess debuted at the Port of Los Angeles on March 23, sailing a series of cruises to the Mexican Riviera. The ship departed April 27 to cruise north to Vancouver for a season of Alaska cruises exploring The Great Land before returning to Los Angeles in September where the ship will homeport for six months, continuing cruises to Alaska, the Mexican Riviera and the California coast.
