The Caribbean’s largest tourism marketing event will be held in Puerto Rico in San Juan from January 30th till February 1st next year.
Frank Comito, director general of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association said that they wanted to show the courage, determination and hard work of the Puerto Rican people to the world by rolling out the re energized Caribbean Travel Marketplace after facing several challenges.
The resilience in rebuilding communities and boosting tourism and the hospitality sector is inspiring. The entire Caribbean region and the industry travel partners came up to support them.
By the end of the year the hotels in Puerto Rico will be welcoming guests as most of the region’s tourism industry will be open for business and the growing number of hotels in different impacted destinations.
The Marketplace that will connect people, renew business relationship and establish new contacts, is produced in collaboration with the Puerto Rico Convention Centre District Authority, The Puerto Rico Tourism Company and the Puerto Rico Hotel and Tourism Association.
Karolin Troubetzkoy, CHTA president said that the hoteliers, destination representatives and industry stakeholders who bank on doing business in this region will have a chance to discover the diverse offerings, new products, improvements and upgrades along with the niche market opportunities.
She further commented that after facing adversity the people have shown tenacity, bravery and dedication in helping the brothers and sisters rebuild their lives by luring the visitors back to their shores.
It was noted that more than 1,1000 delegates from 31 countries participated in more than 10,000 per-scheduled appointments. Around 114 buyer companies from 20 countries attended the Caribbean Travel Marketplace in 2017 that was hosted by the Bahamas.
