The police authorities have been investigating the cause of the incident and have stated that Brown might have been looking out of the window to know why the train had moving at a slow pace.

A railway conductor, Mr. Smith, who was familiar with Simon Brown since the victim was aged 12, said that he had launched a fundraising page to accumulate funds for arranging for his friend’s funeral.

Brown’s father, Mike said that ever since he was a toddler, he was intrigued by trains. He added that Brown used to work on a restoration project of the Great Northern and that he had quit school at the age of 18 with an aim to work as an apprentice with the Southern Trains. Mike also said that Brown had got a job with Hitachi just a few months ago and had moved to Gifford to stay with his girlfriend.

After the tragedy, Missy Wilson, Mr. Brown’s girlfriend returned to stay with her family in Pembrokeshire.
