RCI, the global leader in vacation exchange and part of the Wyndham Worldwide family of brands, announced today the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Yangshuo County Government, formalizing their mutual collaboration to introduce vacation ownership to Yangshuo’s tourism industry and promote Yangshuo as one of the top international tourism destinations.
The agreement builds on the existing relationship RCI has with the Yangshuo County Government in its continuous effort to promote the benefits of vacation ownership in Yangshuo’s tourism market. The MOU was signed by Adrian Lee, managing director, RCI Asia, and Ding Dongdi, Yangshuo County governor, at an official ceremony in Yangshuo, China.
Each MOU signatory will endeavor to promote Yangshuo as a tourist destination through RCI’s global network of more than 4,000 affiliated resorts and approximately 3.7 million members worldwide. Both parties will also help introduce vacation ownership practices to the local tourism industry to enrich the diversity of vacation products. Yangshuo County Government will create a favorable regulatory environment for vacation ownership practice, making it attractive for potential domestic and international investors.
The county governor of Yangshuo expressed that Yangshuo County Government welcomes international companies like RCI to operate in Yangshuo. He believes this will help promote Yangshuo in the global market and enrich the vacation products in the region to attract more tourists and help them enjoy their stay in Yangshuo. “We expect that the cooperation with RCI will contribute to the work of building Yangshuo as one of the top international tourism destinations.”
RCI is honored to be part of the Yangshuo County Government’s strategy to grow its tourism industry,” said Lee. “We have been working with Chinese government authorities for years to ensure the healthy development of the vacation ownership industry – and will continue to support and actively participate in this process.
“China is now the world’s number one source market for international tourism and the largest domestic travel market,” Lee continued. “With outbound Chinese travelers spending US$102 billion in 2012, vacation ownership is poised for its share of the Renminbi. There is great potential for China’s vacation ownership market to grow and benefit consumers, developers, and supporting industries.
“Today, RCI is leading the industry to build cohesiveness, credibility and momentum with players in the vacation ownership industry. We will continue to work alongside Chinese government bodies to capture the opportunities and to facilitate the industry’s healthy growth and sustainable development.”
