This year, American Mothers, Inc. honored Rebecca Latham, Cabinet Secretary of the New Mexico Tourism Department as 2017 National Mother of the Year. This happens only the second time in the 82-year history of the organization’s that a New Mexican mother received this prestigious honor.
To quote Gov. Susana Martinez, ‘We are so proud of Secretary Latham. Through her incredible passion, integrity and hard work, I know that she will continue to show the world what being a New Mexico True mom is all about.’ At the 82nd Annual American Mothers National Conference on last month on April 25th, Latham received the recognition in Washington, D.C. Latham will work as an advocate for mothers across the United States boosting the crucial role of a mother via different educational programs and community outreach at home, work and in the world.
To quote secretary Latham, ‘I am thrilled to bring attention to the hardworking mothers of New Mexico throughout this year of serving as National Mother of the Year.
