The company’s 2015 charity initiative, the first coordinated activity of the newly created RE Cares China Team, is supported by The International Church of Shanghai (ICS). The program is based in Yunnan Province and specializes in providing custom-made artificial limbs for the needy.
In a display of solidarity across Greater China and its global Reed family, Reed Exhibitions Greater China and its member company employees, including generous donors from The Reed Group of Companies, contributed a combined donation of over RMB 91,000. The Reed Group of companies includes: RELX, Reed Elsevier, LexisNexis and Reed Business Information.
“I am proud and grateful to work with such hard-working and compassionate professionals,” notes Reed Exhibitions Greater China recently appointed President Hu Wei. “Such a display of willingness and generosity, both locally and globally, demonstrates our company’s worldwide leadership in community care. It has long been part of Reed culture to give back to the communities. Over the years, we’ve attached great importance to our CSR campaigns and playing an active role in making our communities better places. By means of this year’s initiative, helping these individuals rebuild their lives and walk again, brings a fulfillment to all of us that is truly beyond words.”
This year’s outstanding contribution will be applied to the purchase of more than 100 limbs along with crucial rehabilitation support. In an effort to further drive donations, the amount additionally supported Reed Exhibitions Greater China’s participation at the 7th Annual ICS Charity Golf Tournament that took place on June 5th 2015. Artificial limb donation served as the charity event’s focus. The popular golf tournament is one of many successful charity events organized by the International Church of Shanghai (ICS), of which RXGS is a regular supporter. This year’s collaborative effort was yet another charity triumph resulting in a combined total of over RMB1,000,000 (USD161,100).
