Residence Inn by Marriott and Under Armour Connected Fitness announce a new series of custom running routes that guests can access from each of Residence Inn’s more than 700 properties in nine countries. Each Residence Inn offers a curated two-mile or longer running route for guests to use to thrive better on long stays. The routes are available through Under Armour’s MapMyFitness app; an easy-to-use fitness tracking application that can be downloaded on both iOS and Android devices.
Residence Inn understands that guests want to make the most of their time, especially while on the road, and partnered with Under Armour to further its commitment to helping guests thrive during longer stays. For business travelers with limited time to explore, some of the routes may provide the best views and sights of the area, including top tourist attractions and legendary landmarks. For example, guests traveling to New York City can enjoy the route from the Residence Inn by Marriott New York Manhattan World Trade, which takes runners past the new One World Trade Center and the 9/11 Memorial & Museum to the Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House in Battery Park. Or, the course from the recently opened Residence Inn Chicago Downtown/Loop takes guests to the Windy City’s central bustling business district and through Millennium Park. The curated running routes provide an outdoor workout alternative, so guests can maximize their found time and keep up their fitness routines during long stays away from home.
“As the leader in extended stay lodging, Residence Inn is committed to offering business and leisure travelers conveniences that help them maximize their time and thrive while on the road,” said Diane Mayer, vice president and global brand manager, Residence Inn. “Our partnership with Under Armour complements our existing signature amenities and services including: free grocery delivery, and fully equipped in-suite kitchens. “Our mission is to empower athletes everywhere and through this partnership and our fitness tracking apps and websites, we can provide personalized workout recommendations to Residence Inn guests, encouraging them to stay active even while traveling,” said Warren Kay, Vice President, Advertising for Under Armour Connected Fitness.
