Tom McAlpin, chief executive of Virgin Voyages and Richard Branson who is the founder of the Virgin Group mentioned at a press event for the fleet’s first vessel in Genoa, Italy this week that the ship would be gifting an ‘experience’ that would be enriched with an ‘Adult Design’ theme implying that nobody under the age of 18 would be permitted on board the cruise ship.
A press release stated that the decision of the company was actually motivated by feedback from future sailors and travel professionals who are looking forward to a more luxurious experience with a few Virgin style surprises.
Virgin Voyages is yet to comment on any of its special ‘surprises’ but McAlpin mentioned that this cruise liner is committed to creating a fantastic cruise vessel that would be a transformation experience for cruise travellers to enjoy daytime activities and an interesting ‘night-life’.
The official website of Virgin has also provided a glance at what the passengers is likely to expect on their voyage when explaining exactly what its ‘keel laying’ ceremony is all about.
The official icon of the cruise would be a topless mermaid.
Apart from the adults only theme the ship would also be inspired by superyachts and some feature balconies on at least 86% of the passenger cabins.
Virgin Voyages is presently accepting ‘fully refundable’ deposits of $650 to rserve spots for its upcoming cruises. The very first vessel is slated to navigate passengers from Miami to the Caribbean once its construction is completed at Genoa’s Fincantieri shipyard. The subsequent cruise shops of this company would be debuting in 2021 and 2022.
