The hotel at 500 E. Broad St will start the room renovation work in this month while lobby and restaurant makeover work will be started in mid-December. The fitness centre’s work will be commissioned in the first quarter of 2020 and all the work is supposed to be finished by June 2020.
The hotel will be running throughout though. However, T-Miller Sport’s Bar & Grill, Liberty Bar and Starbucks Café of the hotel will be closed for a brief period due to the renovation work. The makeover work will replace T-Miller’s with a new restaurant to be announced at a later date, and the Starbucks will be enlarged with a larger footprint.
The hotel’s meeting space will get a temporary restaurant while a Starbucks kiosk will also be opened near the hotel’s parking entrance.
The renovation work is going to be started after 10 years span. Last time the renovation work was done in 2009.
The hotel’s sales and marketing director, Connie Brewer, said that the exact cost of the project couldn’t be estimated at this moment though and said that Marriott was not leaving any stone unturned in the renovation work.
The renovated downtown lobby the Richmond Marriott will be having Marriott’s branded M Club, where guests will get Wi-Fi, snacks, beverages and concierge service. Guest rooms will be adorned with new furniture, flooring and fixtures.
Fresh artwork and modern bathroom touches will also be added. A new restaurant will also be opened but the detailed plans have not been disclosed
