“We are honoured that IAGTO has recognized The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay as North America’s 2014 Golf Resort of the Year,” said George Munz, general manager. “The resort features two amazing oceanfront courses – The Old Course and The Ocean Course – as well as exceptionally priced golf packages. Couple that with the opportunity to walk in the footsteps of past champions including KJ Choi and Tiger Woods and it makes the resort truly a one-of-a-kind golf destination for those with a passion for the game,” he added.
Resort guests can enjoy unlimited championship golf while relaxing on the Northern California coast with The Legends Golf Package. For nearly 40 years, avid golfers have been returning to this incomparable setting, enjoying the variety of play offered by the two courses, the Arnold Palmer’s classic American parkland-style The Old Course and the Scottish-links-style Ocean Course designed by Arthur Hills. Starting at $684 per night, the package includes overnight deluxe accommodations, unlimited golf for one or two players, golf tag and resort fee.
More than 500 IAGTO golf tour operators from 62 countries cast their vote for this award. Each operator nominates what they considered to be the best performing golf resorts of the year enjoyed by their golf travelling clients. There are estimated to be just over 1,000 golf resorts in the United States and some 2,000 in total worldwide. The golf resort in each of the three regions with the most number of votes receives the Golf Resort of the Year accolade. Operators consider overall customer satisfaction, quality of the golf course and accommodations, value, accessibility to tee times, and speed of communication and levels of service.
