2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials Marathon
As the host of the 1932 and 1984 Summer Olympic Games, Los Angeles carries a strong Olympiad legacy. In 1984, L.A. became the only U.S. city to host two Olympic Games, and the Coliseum became the only U.S. stadium to host the Olympic Games twice. Building on this tradition, the city is excited to welcome the U.S. Olympic Team Trials Marathon. Runners will begin the looped course at the STAPLES Center at L.A. LIVE, home to the famous Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Kings, Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Sparks. They will also pass iconic venues including the Los Angeles Convention Center, University of Southern California, Exposition Park and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum—designated a National Historic Landmark and home to the Opening Ceremony at the Special Olympics World Games in 2015.
