Rwanda’s national airline, RwandAir, is all set to introduce flight serivce to Zimbabwe’s Harare this year. Harare will be among six new African and international destinations RwandAir plans to begin plying this year.
The Rwandese national flag carrier, however, did not state when the flights are scheduled to begin.
Zimbabwe’s Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister, Walter Mzembi, met RwandAir officials in Kigali July last year on the sidelines of an African Union (AU) summit to discuss the possibility of the Rwandese airline servicing the Kigali-Lusaka-Harare route.
The two sides also explored the possibility of RwandAir operating the Harare-Kigali-Guangzhou, as well as the Harare-Kigali-London routes in the future.
“We will spread our wings even further to Harare, Mumbai, London, Bamako, Conakry, New York and Lilongwe,” the airline says on its official Facebook page.
