Ryanair, Europe’s favourite airline, on (9 July) confirmed that there has been a record response from consumers across Europe to the 1 million £19.85 seats it put on sale on Tuesday, 7 July, to mark the 30th anniversary of its first flight. Bookings on the first day of the sale for the £19.85 priced seats rose beyond 400,000, as traffic to the Ryanair.com website doubled as consumers availed of discounted flights.
Barcelona proved to be the most popular destination choice for Ryanair customers who snapped up these special 30th birthday fares, while Italian customers were the fastest of all nationalities when it came to booking the special fares.
In response to the unprecedented demand Ryanair advises customers that the simplest way to find the £19.85 fares with the best availability is to use the Fare Finder tool on the Ryanair.com website. While there, customers should set the price they want to pay to £20.00 and the website will do the work for them, showing them all the destinations still available at £19.85 or less.
As of today there is still good availability from London to popular destinations such as; Cologne, Deauville, Dublin, Glasgow and Parma for £19.85 or less.
Ryanair’s Chief Marketing Officer, Kenny Jacobs said:
“We’ve been blown away by the response to our 30th anniversary £19.85 seat sale, with record demand from consumers on the day of the million seat launch. Already more than 400,000 of the 1 million seats have been bought and we expect this number to continue rising in the days to come as traffic to the Ryanair.com website continues to flow and consumers make the most of our birthday generosity.
Customers should avail of the Fare Finder tool on our website to book the discounted seats with even more choice, as we signal destinations like Cologne, Deauville and Parma with the most availability. This £19.85 seat sale will save customers a further £125m as we continue to offer Europe’s lowest airfares, with the biggest route network and best service.”
