Captian Mohamed Ahmed will join the Oman’s first budget airline-SalamAir with effect from October2,2017.
He holds an experience of 30 years and served Air Arabia as the Group director of Operations and Maintenance and other roles being active in many joint ventures and subsidiaries.
Around 380,000 passengers travel on board SalamAir from Muscat, Salalah and Sohar to Dubai, Jeddah, Karachi and Sialkot.
He had a significant role to play in the start-up of the airline and most of the subsidiaries across the Arab world and in the east. He also looked into major projects like aircraft, simulator orders, airport expansion and maintaining the Pilot Aviation Academy.
Eng. Khalid bin Hilal Al Yahmadi, Chairman of SalamAir was pleased to have him on board and mentioned that his knowledge and experience in the industry will take the company far ahead.
Captain Mohamed Ahmed said that he plans to build a winning team. He wants the passenger to have great value for money by availing the budget airline business model offering safe and affordable flights.
SalamAir has so far redefined air travel and positioned Oman as the international travel hub. It will focus on serving the needs and demands of the guests on under-served and short haul routes. It has also expanded connectivity from Muscat, Salalah and Suhar to Dubai, Jeddah, Karachi and Sialkot.
