Sally Cope will head Tourism Australia in UK

copeSally Cope has been appointed as the new regional general manager for Tourism Australia in UK. She will be looking after Australia’s fourth largest international inbound tourism market which brought 733,000 visitors to Australia last year.

 

She is currently serving Ultimate Winery Experiences Australia as the executive officer with the responsibility of leading the wine tourism consortium, which represents Australia’s premium winery experience. It is also a part of Tourism Australia’s Signature Experiences portfolio.

 

 

 

She holds 25 years’ experience in the travel and tourism industry and had held leadership positions at Anthology, Voyages Hotel and Resorts, and Qantas Holidays.

 

 

 

Tourism Australia managing director, John O’Sullivan stated that her strong tourism background and commercial record were the main skill-set that led to her appointment in the role. Sally being a connected tourism expert is highly respected. Be it start-ups, scale-ups to major industry heavy weights she has been a driving force withing the organisation and beyond to generate a positive result along with exceptional customer experience.

 

 

Cope felt honoured to join Tourism Australia and was happy to lead an important overseas market. She stated that in her role at the Ultimate Winery Experiences Australia  she was involved with works of Tourism Australia off-shore in promoting Australia, included in the UK.

 

 

The Brits love Australia and more tourism stories to be shared which is a major attraction of the role.

 

 

Cope will be joining her new London –based role from September 3rd onwards.
