Samoa-China direct flights to draw in more tourists

samoaSamoa and China have signed an agreement that would pave the way for direct flights between the two countries. The agreement had been signed on Monday.


The minister of Works, Transport and Infrastructure as well as China’s ambassador to Samoa had signed this agreement on Monday. The agreement is an air service agreement, as reported by a news website.


The news media has reported that this new deal would make way for a new carrier that would be keen on providing regular service on the route that is between Beijing and Samoa’s Faleolo Airport. Papali’itele Niko Lee Hang, a minister said that the latest agreement would strengthen the bond between the nations Samoa and China.


The minister said that the agreement would definitely have a positive impact on trade, tourism and aviation.


Wang Xuefeng who is the Chinese Ambassador said that the agreement signaled the commencement of co-operation in the field of air services. He said that Samoa is a beautiful nation that has friendly people therefore it would certainly lure a large number of Chinese tourists.
