As Portugal’s main tourism exhibition, BTL, commences today in Lisbon, the hotel industry’s leading cloud platform, SiteMinder, announces it has secured a group-wide deal to power the online distribution for one of the country’s top hotel chains, SANA Hotels.Part of the AZINOR group, SANA Hotels comprises 14 properties in Portugal, in central Lisbon, Albufeira, Caldas da Rainha, Estoril and Sesimbra; one property in Germany; and one in Angola – the EPIC SANA Luanda Hotel, which upon its completion in 2011 became the first five-star facility in the nation’s capital of Luanda.
“As SANA’s hotels continue to become an increasingly sought after choice of accommodation for high-end travellers, we need technology that can manage the growing demand for our brand and SiteMinder’s Channel Manager is absolutely superior in this regard. We now connect to more than 20 online travel agencies via SiteMinder’s Channel Manager and this has dramatically enhanced our online reach and presence, so the SANA brand can be found and booked more easily. And, we enjoy the fully local support we receive from SiteMinder’s people,” says the hotel group.SANA Hotels currently boasts more than 2,500 guestrooms and includes the multi award- winning Myriad, the largest hotel conference space in Lisbon. The group is already set for further growth over the next two years with the opening of the five-star Jasmin by SANA Hotels in Cabo Verde and two high-end properties in Morocco.
SiteMinder’s managing director – EMEA, Dai Williams, says today’s deal will position the hotel group well to attract more guests as it expands in the future.“We are delighted to be the technology partner of choice for SANA Hotels when it comes to the marketing and distribution of the hotel group’s rooms online. The properties of SANA Hotels have fast become some of the most recognisable, and acclaimed, in Europe and Africa, and we are confident our technology will allow the group to make these – and all their properties – even more visible to travellers everywhere around the world.”
