The Great Place to Work survey recognizes the best workplaces in 51 countries around the world, bringing together the best employer brands and companies that excel in attracting and retaining talented employees. The list is based on employee surveys and cultural assessments at over 7,000 workplaces and more than 10 million employee responses are taken into consideration.
The survey has three categories including large organizations that employ more than 500 people. This year’s survey involved 151 organizations in Finland and a total of 49,000 employees.
This is the first time that Scandic Finland participated in the survey, but Scandic has received accolades for its work environment before. Last year, Scandic Denmark was named the second best place to work in Denmark, climbing from fourth place the previous year. Scandic was also voted the most attractive hotel employer by business students in a 2014 Universum Norden survey.
Employee satisfaction is a prioritized area at Scandic and the company uses employee surveys to constantly improve the work environment. Scandic also offers Scandic Business School, an internal program designed to help employees develop professionally, as well as Talent@Scandic, a one-year program that identifies and develops high-performing employees to become future hotel managers and leaders within the Group.
“Winning first place is fantastic proof that our 900 highly engaged team members at our 27 hotels in Finland enjoy their work and create great hotel experiences for our guests every day. With their industry expertise and dedication, they contribute to a positive and safe environment marked by clear corporate values, which makes us extremely proud”, says Lena Bjurner, HR and Sustainability Director at Scandic Hotels Group.
