The business and cultural hub of southern China and a key gateway to the prosperous Pearl River Delta region, Guangzhou is Scoot’s sixth destination in China. The addition of Guangzhou brings Scoot’s network to 18 destinations in eight countries and territories.
“Having topped 2015 with the Best Low Cost Airline Asia/Pacific 2016* award for the second consecutive year, Scoot is excited to kickstart 2016 and mark the upcoming one-year anniversary of 787 Dreamliner operations by expanding our footprint in the Pearl River Delta region in addition to Hong Kong!” said Campbell Wilson, CEO of Scoot.
Scoot’s first 787 Dreamliner entered commercial service on 5 February 2015, and the airline now has 10 787 Dreamliners in fleet and 10 more on order.“Our Guangzhou flights complement Tigerair’s existing daily Guangzhou services, and guests can have the opportunity to get outta’ here on Scoot’s widebodied 787 Dreamliners, featuring inflight connectivity, in-seat power, revamped ScooTV inflight entertainment, and a wide range of customization options.” he added.
Stylish trendsetters with a nose for sniffing out value deals will love Guangzhou’s vibrant wholesale markets, peddling diverse products from leather goods and automobile accessories to electronic appliances and home décor. Perfect for jazzing up the house and car in time for Chinese New Year festivities!
After a long day of hitting the streets in search of the best deals, simply unwind over a sumptuous meal of Cantonese cuisine washed down with a round of traditional Kungfu tea, just like the locals do. Those seeking a quiet communion with nature’s wonders can look to the Baiyun or White Cloud Mountain, so named for the ethereal white clouds typically circling its peaks, or contemplate bird watching in the sprawling Nansha Wetland.
Together, Scoot and Tigerair will operate twice daily services and manage the route jointly from today, while Tigerair will mount additional services on selected dates during the Chinese New Year period.
