It will start from 23rd Oct, 2017 and will continue till 27th October and will welcome top buyers in international golf to Scotland of familiarization trips along with one-on-one meetings with golf tourism businesses all through Scotland.
At a latest research, golf tourism of Scotland received a value of £286m per year. This was an increase of £220m in comparison to 2007 and on track to attain £300m target by 2020.
Last year, Scottish Golf Tourism Week was introduced. It aims to attract more than 70 of the leading golf tour operators of the world to Scotland for 3,500 face-to-face meetings with golf businesses of the region.
This event will be introduced during the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open at Dundonald of this year. To quote Hyslop, “Even so, we know there is huge potential for growth.” He said that the Scottish golf industry is worth £1.1bn per year on a whole, supporting more than 20,000 jobs.
Approximately £1 is spent on playing golf where as £5 is spent on other things in Scottish economy, like accommodation, retail, food & drink, and other tourism attractions.
