Scotrail closed after someone was hit by train, travelers face huge delay

ScotrailScotrail’s busiest route Edinburgh to Glasgow line was closed earlier today, as someone was hit by a train. Trains on this line were postponed and diverted through Cumbernauld and Springburn.

 

Scotrrail tweeted: “Sadly a person has been hit by a train between GLQ and Croy. The lines are closed, while emergency services attend. Alterations to services to be expected.”

 

“Services between Glasgow and Edinburgh are currently every 30 min, alternatively transport being arranged between Falkirk High/Falkirk G. Alternative buses are being arrange at Stirling, Queen St, Lenzie, Croy & Falkirk Grahamston for between 10.40/11am.”

 

Passengers have been warned to prepare themselves for delays if they are using Queen Street station.
