More than seventy golf tour operators from thirty nine different countries like the US, China and India will partake in the Scottish Golf Tourism Week that would start from Oct 23rd and continue till October 27th.
PSP Media, the event organizer has scheduled over 3,500 face-to-face meetings with representatives of 85 different Scottish golf businesses that have signed up to describe their services at the event.
To quote Thom Lovering, director of PSP Media Group, said: “These businesses are very good businesses in themselves but don’t have the vast budgets that are needed to reach tour operators that are based in China or around Europe or in America. We have courses that are world famous and everyone knows them, the St Andrews, Kingsbarns and the Turnberries of this world but underneath that level we have a whole host of courses like the Western Gailes, Panmures, the Monifeiths and so on that do not get the exposure that they need. So our idea is instead of getting the golf course to go to these international events that cost tens of thousands of pounds is to flip that. So we have got 85 of Scotland’s best golf facilities and in Turnberry for the week will fly in 70 of the best golf tour operators to meet up with them and we facilitate almost 500 familiarization trips round the country and approximately 3,400 face to face appointments. That gives these golf facilities whether it’s a hotel, whether it’s a golf course, whether it’s a transport provider or a luggage carrier all based in Scotland it gives them the opportunity to speak to these tour operators.”
