scottsdale-tourismScottsdale had 5,000 total hotel rooms with bed tax collections thirty years back. At that point of time, Scottsdale tourism was a four-member team, working to enhance the tourism industry of the region. Today, Scottsdale has 14,000 hotel rooms and the city collects $17 million yearly bed tax.

Experience Scottsdale is a non-profit organization with 45 staff members showcasing more than 400 tourism-based businesses in Paradise Valley, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community and the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation.

The story began in 1987 when the Scottsdale chamber of commerce created its first convention and a small division of visitors’ bureau. In 2017, Experience Scottsdale is celebrating its 30th anniversary and promoting travel and tourism in the region.

It’s a privilege for them to represent this ever-growing industry over the course of three decades. Scottsdale’s Museum of the West opened its doors to national acclaim. Many hotels, restaurants, golf courses, shops and attractions opened, and countless special events were hosted.
