The British Hospitality Association has pointed out that a massive investment is needed for the coastal resorts and communities in Britain to revive the economic condition. They have also mentioned that the British Government needs to appoint a ‘seaside tsar’ to run down the coastal resorts.
According to the report by the association, many seaside locations in Britain have noticed a decline in maritime industry and domestic tourism.
Several low coastal towns in England, especially the eastern part of England are experiencing a rise in the sea level.
The association thinks that it is high time to change the condition of the coastal areas. In order to do so; they plan to appoint a seaside tsar to co-ordinate investment and create numerous coastal action groups.
The report also says that at present the tourists pay almost double amount of VAT in Britain than continental Europe.
Studies suggest that the seaside tourism in Britain has witnessed a steady decline over time.
The association plans to bring the government and the tourism industry together to create attractive environment for investment. The plan is to offer ‘Great British Holiday’ to the millennials and attract new outdoor and sea-based operators to hike up the revenue. Also, the association has plans to present the tourists and the visitors with a modernized travel opportunity, which will provide them with a glimpse of Britain’s heritage.
