Seattle beats all-time Alaska cruise ship records

SeattleThis summer, Seattle is ready to break all its records with almost 960,000 visitors who will join 203 cruise ships. Sailing from Seattle in Washington State to Alaska, this is mark Seattle the USA’s capital for these cruise experiences.



In 1999, the cruise industry to Alaska was started when it had just six sailings. And today, it has grown into a business valued at over £300 million with 11 premium vessels to choose from this year.



The hotel and tourism expansion of Seattle and its north-west Pacific state of Washington has been impacted effectively with the success of the cruise industry.



A portfolio of new hotel developments and openings are taking place in Seattle between 2015 and 2018 and it includes brands like boutique Thompson Hotel, Hotel Indigo, an SLS hotel and a W hotel. Direct flights on British Airways and Delta Air Lines at an affordable price have added to the further impetus on selecting Seattle as the start point of choice for Alaska cruises.
