After trespassers snuck onto the line train services on Great Northern between Stevenage and London was plagued by severe delays.
According to the train operators the lines have now reopened but the delays will last until at least 11 am.
On a ten mile piece of track between Welwyn Garden City and Potters Bar trespassers made it onto the railway.
Great Northern took to twitter , it mentioned that a ll lines have now reopened following trespassers on the railway between Welwyn Garden City and Potters Bar.
The services may be delayed by up to 40 minutes or will be subject to alteration/cancellation.
Alternative travel arrangements should be considered by the customers and tickets will be accepted on Thameslink service between Cambridge, Peterborough and London.
It was confirmed by the company that the delays were because of the power being turned off which prevented train shock from leaving the depot on time.
To detain the trespasser emergency services were called in the early hours of the morning and the line was reopened by 06:17am.
The Hertfordshire Police said that a person has been safety taken off the tracks following this incident. Trains are now running again, but please check with your service provider as there may still be delays. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
The delays horrified the commuters which came in the heart of Monday morning rush hour.
