The transcontinental landed safely in Philadelphia on Saturday afternoon and the people had hit the ceiling due to the drop in altitude and plane shaking.
A passenger reported that after thirty minutes when the flight attendants got drinks an alarm was raised to fasten the seat belt. The flight attendants were asked to get back to their seats, the plane started shaking and there was a big drop.
FAA official mentioned that the flight crew reported of turbulence while crossing the North Atlantic. However, the airlines said that the turbulence was brief and that all the passengers were released from the hospital.
The spokesperson for American Airlines did not comment on what caused the incident to happen.
A statement released from the American Airlines said that the American Airlines flight 759 from Athens in Greece to Philadelphia International Airport faced severe turbulence for a short span before landing safely in Philadelphia Saturday afternoon.
Precautionary measures were taken on time, the seat belt sign was on at the time.
Three passengers and seven crew members were taken to a local hospital for check and later released.
A reporter from nonprofit newsroom tweeted about the incident that the plane lurched through the air. Jessica Huseman appreciated the efforts of the flight crew on effectively handling the situation.
