Recently, a memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed on Tuesday between Africa Kenya Airways and the Seychelles Tourism Board in order to advertise the two destinations in Europe. Mbuvi Ngunze, Kenya Airways Managing Director informed the media that the MOU agreement will ride on Kenya Airways’ extensive destination network.
To quote Ngunze, ‘The aim is to increase inbound tourist traffic into the two nations that have tourism products that complement each other. By collaborating, we are likely to boost our tourism sectors as compared to working alone.’
Intra-Africa tourism via joint market initiation along with participation in events all over Africa, and stakeholder education is what MOU covers. World-famous wildlife tourism destination is how Kenya is known to the world and Seychelles boasts as best beach tourism product in the world. In 2015, both the countries signed Bilateral Air Service Agreement which provides Kenya’s national airline the right to take on unlimited trips to the island nation. To quote, Ngunze, ‘We want to stimulate more exchanges between the two countries so as to increase the frequency of Kenya Airways.’
The MOU contract will help both the countries to commence on joint marketing public relations ventures to possible tourists, as confirmed by the Seychelles Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine Maurice Loustau-Lalanne recently.
