Get set go! As the Seychelles Eco-Friendly Marathon returns for yet another year of great run. To be held on Feb 28, Seychelles Eco-Friendly Marathon provides a unique opportunity for marathon runners across the globe to savour the experience of running through some of the most amazing countryside on earth.
The inaugural race, which was held in 2008, was the brainchild of Dong Chang Jeong, Seychelles’ Honorary Consul General for South Korea with the aims of enhancing Seychellois health, providing for interaction between Seychellois and foreign participants, attracting overseas runners and leisure travellers and strengthening Seychelles’ brand image worlwide.
The event is wonderfully complemented by a special Korean Gala Dinner, due to be held on Sunday 28th February 2016. It is a unique chance to experience the wonders of Korean culture and cuisine and will also be the occasion for the prize giving ceremony for Seychelles Eco-Friendly Marathon winners.
The breathtakingly-beautiful course of the marathon meanders down the East coast of Mahe, Seychelles’ principal island, between virgin, forest-covered hillsides and the dappled waters of a limpid, sapphire ocean.
If it is true that inspiration is drawn from one’s environment, then there can be few purer forms of motivation than that supplied by Seychelles’ Eco-Friendly Marathon.
