January this year, Seychelles witnessed almost 24,920 visitors that shows an increase of 33 percent as compared to last year with 18,760 visitors. As per the datas presented by the National Bureau of Statistics at the end of last month, more than 93 percent of visitors in January were on vacations with 2 percent on Business trips or holidays.
56 percent were from Europe, 11 percent from Africa, 28 percent from Asia and 4 percent was from America. Germany, China, France, Russia, United Arab Emirates and Italy were the top six markets for January. As per statistical bulletin in terms of visitor arrival, 6,996 tourists arrived at Seychelles at the first week of February with 30,300 visitors which was an increase of 35% above that of 2016.
Changes in the leading markets with the following increase were also witnessed as China remains at first position and Germany became the second leading market. France, Russia, United Arab Emirates and Italy remained the other four foremost markets.
