This month, Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) brought tourism proposition of this UAE city to India. New Delhi and Mumbai will host two premiere international travel exhibitions like SATTE and OTM this year. SATTE attracts more than 20,000 travel trade attendees from 30 international tourism boards and more than 850 travel and tourism exhibitors. On the other hand, OTM attracts over 1,000 exhibitors from 50 different countries and 10,000 members of the travel trade.
In SATTE 2017, Sharjah’s involvement included Ramada Sharjah, Golden Tulip Sharjah, Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort & Spa, Sharjah National Hotels, Air Arabia, SATA (Sharjah Airport Travel Agency), Cozmo Travels and Auras Tours.
As per tourism authority figures, India is the fourth largest market for global travelers to Sharjah. SCTDA carried out an ongoing marketing campaign on India’s outbound tourism over the last couple of years by analyzing key travel events and exploring different cities all over the country. In 2014, 18.33 million Indian nationals traveled abroad. By 2020, Indian outbound travel has the possibility to reach benchmark of 50 million according to the statistics presented by UNWTO.
